Jen Van Allen Earns PRSA Strategic Communication Certification

Associate Director of Client Services Jen Van Allen has earned professional certification in Strategic Communication from the Public Relations Society of America.

The Strategic Communications Program is a training program designed to equip senior level communicators with the knowledge of how to build a strategic, behavioral public outreach plan that will move the needle on stakeholder action, not just opinions, to achieve more effective public relationship outcomes, according to the PRSA

As Associate Director of Client Services, Jen provides public relations and strategic communications support for clients. She joined Broadreach in 2022 and has more than 28 years of experience writing for newspapers, magazines, and digital channels. She has been a staff writer for American Banker, The Virginian-Pilot, The (Delaware) News-Journal, and The St. Petersburg Times, and her freelance work has appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, Mainebiz, Portland Press-Herald, Working Waterfront, and other publications. As Special Projects Editor at Runner’s World magazine, she spearheaded the launch of reader products, services, events, and other brand extensions to augment circulation and advertising revenues. As Sponsored Content Editor at Down East magazine she worked alongside the ad sales team to market and develop sponsored content for advertising clients. Jen is a native of Indianapolis, and she earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Kenyon College in Ohio.
