Nationally accredited in public relations, Linda Varrell founded Broadreach Public Relations in 2006 as a way to help businesses and organizations raise their profiles. A 25-year veteran of the financial services industry, Linda has a track record of initiating and leading high-impact growth and improvement strategies for diverse organizations and has demonstrated her expertise in strategic planning, brand development, media relations, community and employee relations, crisis communication and project management. She has led numerous initiatives that have increased the market visibility while creating goodwill for organizations and their target audiences. Linda is regularly tapped to speak at C-level events and industry-specific conferences. Linda holds a master of science in organizational leadership and is pursuing an MBA. Linda is active in the community, focusing on youth development and community service, serves as the Chair of USM Corporate Partners and President of the Maine Public Relations Council. Michael works with clients in the professional services and technology sectors on media strategy and execution, promoting their visibility and helping their stories achieve the precision and impact needed to align with business objectives. Michael has proven himself in the exceedingly fluid communications landscape, coming to Broadreach from a successful stint helping start-up companies find competitive advantage through design. He also held management positions in both banking and hospitality, proving instrumental to the expansion of one of Boston's top nightlife groups. Josiah provides senior members of the Broadreach team with client and media relations support, as well as strategic and tactical planning, social media, project research, and administrative support. Prior to joining Broadreach Public Relations, Josiah worked with global corporate communications firm Sard Verbinnen & Co. in New York, where he provided support on several high-profile crisis communications initiatives. He also previously served as a student assistant at the University of Southern Maine Office of the President. Nick oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm, including financial and facilities operations and vendor management. Previously, he worked at L.L. Bean and Bates College. In addition, Cormier consults high school student athletes looking to play sports in college. Cormier graduated with a Bachelor of Science in sports management from Southern New Hampshire University and a Master of Arts in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University, Irvine (CA). As the firm's Senior Strategist, Jason leads the development of client project strategy, ensuring that a comprehensive plan has been tailored to achieve each client’s unique objectives. Jason also leads the firm’s public affairs offerings and advises clients on crisis communications matters. Since 1999, Jason has worked extensively on high profile strategic communications and crisis communications efforts for a diverse list of clients that include corporations and non-profit organizations of international prominence. Prior to joining Broadreach, Jason founded North Public Affairs – a full-service public affairs firm. Other experience includes work with the United States Congress, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and the New Hampshire Legislature. Jason graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Active in his community, he coaches youth hockey and is on the board of directors of Community Partners, Inc. which provides services to Mainers with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a client manager, Paula leads the strategy and day-to-day activities for assigned clients, ensuring that the appropriate activities are executed to maximize organizations opportunities for visibility. Paula has nearly a decade of experience in public relations and media for clients across New England and the Southeast. She recently joined Broadreach from Kennesaw State University in Metro-Atlanta, where she directed public relations, branding, and strategic communication for all business programs. Paula holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and a graduate studies certificate in Digital and Social Media from Kennesaw State University. As a Public Relations Specialist, Emily assists with client and media relations, strategic and tactical planning, and social media development and execution. Emily joined Broadreach from Chicago-based global public relations firm Weber Shandwick, where she served on a global consumer technology team developing brand management programs for a variety of clients, including product launches, layoffs, and activations. Prior to Weber Shandwick, Emily worked with the Foundation of the Undefeated in Newport Beach, California. Maine native Destinee Cyr joins the Broadreach Public Relations team as the firm’s newest public relations apprentice. Prior to joining Broadreach, Destinee served as a media intern with the Heart of Biddeford Coalition, where she conducted artist interviews, as well as managed social media accounts and general publicity for the 4th Annual River Jam Festival. With ample experience in direct marketing, public relations, journalism, and customer service, her culminated professional and educational experiences provide her with a wide range of business knowledge and strong communication skills. Currently, Destinee is working on attaining her Master of Business Administration in marketing from Southern New Hampshire University and is expected to graduate in the spring of 2018.
