Nationally accredited in public relations, Linda Varrell founded Broadreach Public Relations in 2006 as a way to help businesses and organizations raise their profiles. A 25-year veteran of the financial services industry, Linda has a track record of initiating and leading high-impact growth and improvement strategies for diverse organizations and has demonstrated her expertise in strategic planning, brand development, media relations, community and employee relations, crisis communication and project management. She has led numerous initiatives that have increased the market visibility while creating goodwill for organizations and their target audiences. Linda is regularly tapped to speak at C-level events and industry-specific conferences. Linda holds a master of science in organizational leadership and is pursuing an MBA. Linda is active in the community, focusing on youth development and community service, serves as the Chair of USM Corporate Partners and President of the Maine Public Relations Council. As director of Client Development, Paula is responsible for building strong relationships with clients, understanding what success means for each individual and leading business development and client retention efforts. In addition, Paula manages a wide range of accounts, with a focus on media relations for higher education and Maine’s thriving hospitality industry, including hotels, craft beer and several signature events. She joined Broadreach in 2016 from Kennesaw State University in Metro-Atlanta, where she led public relations, branding, and strategic communication for all business programs. Paula holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and a graduate studies certificate in Digital and Social Media from Kennesaw State University. Josiah is the daily point of contact for several financial, professional services, and non-profit clients, responsible for developing and executing communication strategies and demonstrating success through analytics-based reporting. As a 2015 graduate of the Broadreach Apprenticeship Program, Josiah serves as a mentor to junior staff and interns. He joined Broadreach from New York-based corporate communications firm Sard Verbinnen, where he supported a number of high-profile investor relations and crisis communications clients. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics magna cum laude from the University of Southern Maine, where he interned in the University's Office of the President. Marnie leads the firm’s multimedia capabilities, tapping into her experience as a broadcast journalist to develop visual storytelling strategies and produce outstanding content. Over the past year, Marnie has directed and produced strategic communications content that has achieved high social engagement reach and praise from clients, including Maine International Trade Center, Diversified Communications, The Dempsey Center, AC Hotel Portland Downtown Waterfront, Maine Grain Alliance, and Camp Sunshine. Prior to joining Broadreach, she spent more than two decades as a broadcast journalist across New England.
As the newest addition to the Broadreach team, Emily specializes in social media content planning and creation, and client relations. Emily graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a concentration in Public Relations. Prior to graduating and moving back to Maine, she worked as an editorial intern with Occasions Media Group in St. Augustine.
