Case Study: How Broadreach Cleared the Path for a Landmark Opening of The Maine Trail Center

When the Maine Appalachian Trail Club opened the Maine Trail Center in 2025, the organization needed more than a ribbon cutting. It needed to show why the facility matters. Built to strengthen volunteer training, trail stewardship, and long-term maintenance of the Appalachian Trail in Maine, the Trail Center represents a decade-long investment in the people who care for one of the state’s most significant outdoor resources.

Broadreach planned and executed a three-part celebration consisting of a Media Day, Dedication Ceremony, and public Open House. The events honored the legacy of the Trail Center’s $1 million named-gift donor, recognized the volunteers who helped make the project possible, and gave donors, members, and neighbors an opportunity to experience the facility for the first time.

Over 70 attendees participated, while media coverage communicated the Trail Center’s completion and its unique mission to the Skowhegan community and the hiking public. The events were delivered on time, under budget, and described by the donor’s family as “flawless in every way.”
