In August 2025, the Maine Department of Labor partnered with Broadreach to bring its first ever Apprenticeship Summit to life in celebration of National Apprenticeship Week. With less than three months to plan and promote the event, the goal was ambitious: bring employers, workforce partners, and apprentices together to raise awareness of the Maine Apprenticeship Program and inspire new participation. Broadreach exceeded the department’s goals on a variety of fronts.
Broadreach worked with an event planner to support every step of the effort—from securing a centrally located venue and providing copywriting for a custom website to promoting registration through MDOL newsletters and stakeholder networks. At the same time, we earned media coverage from the state’s biggest outlets, including Mainebiz, WGME, the Portland Press Herald, and several TV stations across the state.
The results exceeded expectations. More than 250 people registered for the event– exceeding the client’s target by nearly 70% and a successful day-of execution that included keynote speakers, breakout sessions, resource tables, and even a formal declaration recognizing National Apprenticeship Week from Governor Janet Mills – marking a major milestone for Maine’s workforce community.
