Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution Donates to Community Bicycle Center’s New Home

BIDDEFORD, Maine (September 5, 2014) — Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution recently donated $3,500 to building renovations at Biddeford’s new Community Bicycle Center (CBC). The CBC, incorporated in 2005, provides growth opportunities for youth by learning how to recondition bicycles, going on local bike riding adventures, participating in community service projects and a welding and metal fabrication program.
Through the support of community members, business, volunteers and foundations the center recently purchased and renovated its new home at 45 Granite Street, Biddeford. This new space, abutting Clifford Park, will allow the CBC to more effectively engage kids in its youth development programs. A community open house is scheduled for Saturday, September 20 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
“The Community Bicycle Center is a wonderful asset to the city of Biddeford and surrounding areas. Many young people benefit from the programs that they offer. Our contributions to the organization exemplify our continued commitment to helping our community members,” said Kevin Savage, President and CEO of Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution.
