Business leaders in Maine call it "The Brain Drain." They are referring to the fact that many talented young college graduates leave Maine in search of better business opportunities in bigger cities.

Tonight, a group calling itself "Create Maine" will host a party at the University of Southern Maine to motivate students to build their businesses there.

31-year-old Ryan Donnelly, 27-year-old Ryan Bumont and 26-year-old Becky McKinnell all started their own companies.

Becky has four employees, a long list of clients and was recently featured as one of Business Week's top 25 Entrepreneurs Under 25. All three of these young adults will be featured speakers at a new event in Portland called "Create Maine."

One of the obstacles "Create Maine" hopes to overcome is the perception that Maine doesn't have enough resources.

Becky got her start at the Center For Enterprise Development at the University of Southern Maine. They provide office space -- cubicles for start-up tech companies.
